Welcome to Malvina Bartmanski Clinical Psychology

I provide individual and couples psychotherapy for adults ages 23 and up.
I practice an in-depth psychotherapy process to address the root causes of difficulties.
I believe that within you is a wise authentic self that can activate your healing.

Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.

I make use of an integrative/holistic approach to fit my client’s unique needs and circumstances. My psychotherapeutic method facilitates healing through a process of integration of distressing past life events and traumas. In my practice, you will find a safe space and effective tools that help you to address all of the facets of your experience that may be creating dis-ease. With many tools in my therapeutic toolbox, I mindfully explore the integrity of what is most beneficial and appropriate for each unique client.
I am trained in various modalities: EMDR, CBT, DBT, Hypnotherapy, Schema Therapy, Parts Therapy, SHIP®, relational psychodynamic and Jungian psychotherapy.

I have a preferred manner of working. This is a psychobiological approach to healing called Spontaneous Healing Intrasystemic Process (SHIP®). This process is effective for both psychological and physical dis-ease.  For more information please consult:

Cognitive assessments encompass assessing an individual’s cognitive abilities, such as memory, problem solving, numerical ability and intellectual (IQ) functioning. The goal of this assessment is to determine an individual’s cognitive strengths and developmental areas.

A neuropsychological assessment evaluates an individual’s cognitive functioning and is used to evaluate the consequences of brain injury or damage. A neuropsychological evaluation consists of a number of tests of different thinking processes. This may include tests of intelligence, attention, memory, reasoning and other thinking skills. An evaluation may require several hours to assess the various skills involved in processing information.

Typically, neuropsychological assessments are employed to assess and diagnose for the following possible disorders:

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI) (motor vehicle accidents, falls, sport-related concussions)
  • Degenerative brain disorders/Dementia (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease)
  • Other progressive disorders (Multiple Sclerosis, drug- and alcohol-related disorders)
  • Cerebrovascular accidents (strokes)
  • Seizure disorders
  • Capacity Evaluations: Can be completed to determine if an individual has the ability to make a variety of decisions or execute a variety of behaviors (e.g. capacity to live independently, financial capacity, etc.)

Personality Assessment involves the administration scientifically supported measures of personality traits and styles in order to aid clinical diagnosis for more effective treatment decision-making. Personality tests provide measures of such characteristics as feelings and emotional states, preoccupations, motivations, attitudes, and approaches to interpersonal relations.

The human heart yearns for contact – above all it yearns for genuine dialogue. Each of us secretly and desperately yearns to be ‘met’ – to be recognized in our uniqueness, our fullness and our vulnerability.
